I'm Gavin Mark, and I have complete aphantasia - when others visualize a beach, I see nothing but darkness. No mental images, no mind's eye. Just black.
For years, I felt like I was missing something fundamental. I did everything the manifestation experts said: wrote income goals on sticky notes, repeated affirmations religiously, tried desperately to "visualize success."
Vision boards were especially frustrating - collecting images for a mental process I couldn't access, while everyone insisted this was the secret to creating my future.
Self-hypnosis programs were just as bad. "Picture yourself on a staircase, descending deeper with each step..." But there was no staircase in my mind. No steps. Nothing to descend into. Just more frustration as I realized these techniques weren't built for brains like mine.
Nothing worked. The techniques that seemed magical for others left me with nothing.
At 38, I discovered why: my brain is simply wired differently. That revelation changed everything.
I learned I was in the 3% of the population who cannot create mental imagery at all. With around 10-20% of people having poor or varying levels of visualization skills. This discovery led me to seek out others like me - successful people, sports athletes - and research how they (or their coaches) helped them improve performance without visualization.
I began piecing together different approaches, studying physical cues, movement patterns, and embodied practices that created results without requiring mental pictures.
That's when everything shifted.
What if manifestation wasn't about seeing - but about feeling?

This insight led me to develop my own system for brains like mine (later I called it 'The Attraction Method') - a completely different manifestation approach built for people who can't visualize (or don’t see pictures ‘clearly’ enough!)
